The news is officially out that I’m going to be a mom in less than THREE months!!! I can’t believe we’re so close to our due date, it definitely still feels surreal to me. I had hesitated posting the news online for the world to know until we were pretty far along in the pregnancy. I’ll be honest, that move was just out of fear. For me, it was a big mental hurdle to just get past the 23 week mark, which is when I delivered with Jack last year. Now we’re in the 3rd trimester, so I hesitantly decided to share the news last week. I was hesitant for 2 reasons: 1) I was scared because of everything that went down last time, and 2) our situation is unconventional and I wasn’t sure if I’d get some weird or not so supportive comments. Now that the news is out, I’m SO glad I shared!
I received such an overwhelmingly supportive, loving and kind response to my post about our surrogacy journey with my sister. I am so glad I shared the news, because now I feel so much support behind us. It truly has helped, having so many people say they’re thinking of us and praying for us. So to everyone who commented, texted and emailed, thank you! It truly made a difference and meant the world to us.
Early on in the pregnancy, Jay and I decided to find out the gender of our baby. I wanted to find out in a little bit of a fun way, so here’s what I did: I went to the store and bought a baby girl and a baby boy outfit. I had a friend of mine look at the gender that the doctor had written down, and she wrapped up the respective outfit like a present. Then later on Jay and I opened the box together, just the two of us. That’s when we found out we’re having a GIRL!!!
This is the little outfit that was wrapped up which revealed to us that we’re having a baby girl – so I figured this post would be perfect holding Reagan’s first dress, sitting in her nursery (which is slowly coming along!). Happy Tuesday, friends!
