November Self Portrait: Re-charging

Thanksgiving is behind us, so let the Christmas season begin!!! This is always such a crazy time of year, but it’s also one of my favorites. Nothing can beat the energy and coziness of Christmastime, right?! I absolutely love it. Plus, as Reagan gets older and older I’m sure it will be more and more fun. I am so excited for it all to start!

Even though my photoshoots start to die down in November, this month was a busy + stressful one. So the R & R that I had scheduled at the end of the month was much needed. Every year, Lora (wedding planner extraordinaire from Laurel & Elm) and I get together for a mini Christmas party of sorts. We both own our own businesses and work alone…and we both miss having company holiday parties! So instead of missing out, we create our own. We usually get together and go out for dinner + some drinks. This year we decided to do it a bit bigger. We opted for a 2 day spa trip in the Poconos, and it was pretty much the most amazing thing ever. We stayed at the Lodge at Woodloch, which was hands-down the nicest place I’ve ever stayed. It’s immaculate, and they have so many extra perks and things you wouldn’t expect, which made it feel extra special. I highly recommend it!

Is there anything better than complete relaxation for 2 days straight after a crazy busy time in your life? I didn’t realize how badly I needed this break until it happened. It felt SO. GOOD. to just sit and do nothing. No phone calls, no emails, just purely re-charging for 2 days. I feel totally rejuvenated and ready to dive back into work.

So this was my view for a lot of the time we were at the spa. So much of my month was spent eagerly awaiting this getaway, and it absolutely did not disappoint.
